Laying of the cornerstone in Eupen

De first cornerstone of the courthouse of Eupen was laid this Monday 12 June 2017, in the presence of ministers Jan Jambon and Koen Geens.
The works are carried out in 2 phases.
During the first phase, the zone where the new courthouse will be built had to be vacated. Therefore, the existing buildings located at No 2, 4 and 6 of the Rathausplatz, as well as the annexes, shed and garages at the back of this street were demolished.
During the second phase, the buildings No 8 and 10 will undergo a full renovation.
The 25-year lease with a purchase possibility at the end of the lease duration has been concluded.
